Lyrics
Nothing happened today at all No letter came, no bell The kettle sang, the cat sat down And all of it was well I stood a while by the window Humming something small Happy for no good reason Happy, and I can't say why The light came in just right And the day went easy by Happy for no good reason Let it stay, let it stay The baker gave a nod to me A child waved from a bus A tune I had forgotten Came whistling back to us I laughed at nothing, nothing at all And nothing laughed along Happy for no good reason Happy, and I can't say why The light came in just right And the day went easy by Happy for no good reason Let it stay, let it stay I used to wait for something big A reason, or a sign But joy walks in without a knock And sits down, calm and kind So here's a toast with a cup of tea To the days that ask for nothing To the little lamp, the open door To a heart that just keeps humming I don't need a reason, dear I only need this room Happy for no good reason Happy, and I can't say why The light came in just right And the day went easy by Happy for no good reason Let it stay, let it stay Happy for no good reason Let it stay
