Lyrics
Past the last gas pump and the fence line gone A green neon cactus is waving us on Its arms are glowing, its welcome is wide Pull in, pull in, there's a light inside The owner's got coffee that tastes like tin A pool with no water and a grin A map on the wall with a thousand pins Every traveller's story where it begins Leave your hurry in the car Leave your worry by the door The Neon Cactus Motel welcomes you Rest your road-worn bones tonight There's a bed and a story and a sky full of stars And a sunrise coming slow and bright The Neon Cactus Motel welcomes you Everybody's welcome in the light We sit on the curb with our paper cups Strangers trading where we're from A trucker, a student, a couple in love All of us heading toward the sun Tomorrow the road will be long again Tomorrow the heat will rise But tonight there's a cactus that glows for us And a hush beneath the wide black skies The Neon Cactus Motel welcomes you Rest your road-worn bones tonight There's a bed and a story and a sky full of stars And a sunrise coming slow and bright The Neon Cactus Motel welcomes you Everybody's welcome in the light Welcome, welcome Everybody's welcome in the light
