Lyrics
Cruise control and a quiet hum Four of us and the road to come Drummer's sleeping on the amp Singer's reading the map by lamp No one's rushing, no one's late Sun's going down on the interstate Windows cracked and the radio low Nowhere to be but on the go Smooth talk and slow miles Telling lies and trading smiles Let the white lines pull us home We never drive alone Smooth talk and slow miles Half a tank and a half a mile Sing it loud or sing it low Where we're going, we'll just go Bass player's got a story About a goat and a county fair Nobody believes a word of it But we all still lean in there Harmonica on the dashboard Rattling every bump Pass the gas-station coffee We're all tired, we're all one Smooth talk and slow miles Telling lies and trading smiles Let the white lines pull us home We never drive alone Smooth talk and slow miles Half a tank and a half a mile Sing it loud or sing it low Where we're going, we'll just go Mountains turn to purple Purple turns to black Nobody says we're lost Nobody wants to turn back One more verse of anything One more mile of this Some nights are made for driving And that's enough to miss Smooth talk and slow miles Telling lies and trading smiles Let the white lines pull us home We never drive alone Smooth talk and slow miles Half a tank and a half a mile Sing it loud or sing it low Where we're going, we'll just go Slow miles, slow miles Roll on, roll on
