Lyrics
Parked above the harbour lights Engine off, the heater low Rain taps out a slow code On the bonnet, soft and slow I play the mixtape that you made Your handwriting on the case Track by track the hours fade And your voice fills the space Tape hiss and rain on the bonnet Say my name in the static Tape hiss and rain on the bonnet Everything slow and automatic Tape hiss and rain Wipers rest and the glass goes blind The city blurs to gold and blue I'm not lost and I'm not fine I'm somewhere in between with you Side B starts with a gentle click A song I never learned the end The night is warm, the night is thick And I am nobody's friend but yours Tape hiss and rain on the bonnet Say my name in the static Tape hiss and rain on the bonnet Everything slow and automatic Tape hiss and rain Let it play to the very last Let the quiet do the rest Some songs are only meant to pass Through the chest Tape hiss and rain on the bonnet Say my name in the static Tape hiss and rain on the bonnet Everything slow and automatic Tape hiss and rain Rain on the bonnet Rain on the bonnet
