Lyrics
I pushed the shutters open On the first warm day of spring The air came in like honey With a song for me to sing My old guitar was waiting With its nylon strings so sweet I played a little samba For the sunshine on the street Nylon strings and open shutters Spring is in the air Nylon strings and open shutters Not a single care Sway a little, sway a little Let the afternoon go slow Nylon strings and open shutters And the warm wind starts to blow The neighbour hung her washing And she hummed along in time The fruit man by the corner Tapped a drum upon a dime A bicycle went by us With a bell that sang along The whole street was a chorus Of a lazy little song Nylon strings and open shutters Spring is in the air Nylon strings and open shutters Not a single care Sway a little, sway a little Let the afternoon go slow Nylon strings and open shutters And the warm wind starts to blow No need to hurry now No place I have to be Just a chair, a song, a window And the sunlight over me Nylon strings and open shutters Spring is in the air Nylon strings and open shutters Not a single care Sway a little, sway a little Let the afternoon go slow Nylon strings and open shutters And the warm wind starts to blow And the warm wind starts to blow
