Lyrics
Checkout at noon and the sun is high Dust on the dashboard, dust on the sky I hand back the key to the room we shared The night was short and the road is bare Don't forget the desert night The pink sign and the pool light Don't forget the way we stayed The room is empty, the memory stays The engine turns and the radio hums A little slow song as the morning comes I look in the mirror at the motel sign Pink in the daylight, still all mine Don't forget the desert night The pink sign and the pool light Don't forget the way we stayed The room is empty, the memory stays Maybe we'll come back one day Maybe the road will lead this way If not, it's fine, I have the light I'll carry it with me tonight Don't forget the desert night The pink sign and the pool light Don't forget the way we stayed The room is empty, the memory stays Don't forget The desert night
