Lyrics
I made a promise years ago At the bridge where the river runs slow Said I'd come back, said I'd stand With a ticket in my hand Seasons rolled and the trains ran late Still I kept it, I would wait Now I'm walking, hear me say I'm on my way, I'm on my way Keep the promise, cross the bridge Every step is a kept word Lamps are lit along the way Love is waiting at the end of day Water shining, the evening bright Footsteps ringing in the light There she stands with a wave Some things come to those who stay Keep the promise, cross the bridge Every step is a kept word Lamps are lit along the way Love is waiting at the end of day Don't you tell me it's too late Promises are worth the wait Take my hand and walk with me Singing as we cross the sea Keep the promise, cross the bridge Every step is a kept word Lamps are lit along the way Love is waiting at the end of day Cross the bridge, cross the bridge
