Lyrics
Quiet hall at three a.m. Soft shoes on the floor Lights are low along the ward I check another door Night shift, night shift Keeping watch till morning Night shift, night shift The city is asleep I stay awake Coffee going cold again Monitors that glow Someone squeezes my hand once And I am not alone Night shift, night shift Keeping watch till morning Night shift, night shift The city is asleep I stay awake Sun is coming up Sun is coming up Take me home Night shift, night shift Keeping watch till morning Night shift, night shift The city is asleep I stay awake I stay awake I stay awake
