Lyrics
Storm cell chased us out of Amarillo Wipers beating like a drum Lost the power at the gas station Told the clerk we'd see what's yet to come Four of us in a van with a busted dome light Harmonica on the dashboard shaking Singing every song we ever knew Till the thunder started breaking We don't need the lights, we've got the road We don't need the map, we've got the load Thunder in the rearview, daylight up ahead Keep your foot down, there's a sunrise in the red Thunder in the rearview, let it roll on by We've got a long road and a wide-open sky Sing it out, sing it loud Let the dark hear the crowd Thunder in the rearview, daylight up ahead Every mile behind us is a mile we wasted Every mile ahead is a song The rain turns to mist on the windshield And the clouds are breaking, moving along We don't need the lights, we've got the road We don't need the map, we've got the load Thunder in the rearview, daylight up ahead Keep your foot down, there's a sunrise in the red Thunder in the rearview, let it roll on by We've got a long road and a wide-open sky Sing it out, sing it loud Let the dark hear the crowd Thunder in the rearview, daylight up ahead Hold on, hold on, the storm won't last Hold on, hold on, we're moving fast Hold on, hold on, to the ones you love And the light that's coming up above Thunder in the rearview, daylight up ahead Keep your foot down, there's a sunrise in the red Thunder in the rearview, let it roll on by We've got a long road and a wide-open sky Sing it out, sing it loud Let the dark hear the crowd Thunder in the rearview, daylight up ahead Daylight up ahead
