Lyrics
Every morning on my way to work There's a man who plays beside the stairs He doesn't know my name or what I carry But his music lifts me anyway Some days I was tired, some days I was low Some days I walked on by too fast But the song kept floating after me And it made the heavy hours pass So today I stopped And I listened to it all Thank you for the song Thank you for the song You played it for nobody And it carried me along Thank you for the song Thank you for the song Small light on a grey street Thank you for the song I dropped a little coin in the open case He smiled and kept on playing Strangers started clapping on the beat And the whole morning started swaying So today I stopped And we sang it all Thank you for the song Thank you for the song You played it for nobody And it carried me along Thank you for the song Thank you for the song Small light on a grey street Thank you for the song Somebody gives Somebody hears That is how the whole day clears Thank you for the song Thank you for the song You played it for nobody And it carried me along Thank you for the song Thank you for the song Small light on a grey street Thank you for the song Thank you for the song Thank you for the song
