Lyrics
I made you a promise at the gate Said I'd come, however late Roads were closing, skies were grey But a promise doesn't look away Miles are only steps in a row Every mile I let them go Lights come up along the line Every one of them a sign Hold on, I'm on my way Hold on, I'm on my way I said I'd be there by morning And morning is rising for me Through the dark and the storm and the warning I'm keeping the word, can't you see Every heartbeat is a drum, every breath is a vow I said I'd be there by morning And I'm standing at your door now Tired hands upon the wheel Hope is something I can feel Though the night has been so long Love will always sing along Hold on, I'm on my way Hold on, I'm on my way I said I'd be there by morning And morning is rising for me Through the dark and the storm and the warning I'm keeping the word, can't you see Every heartbeat is a drum, every breath is a vow I said I'd be there by morning And I'm standing at your door now Sunrise on the hills Gold across the sills A promise kept is a light that stays I said I'd be there by morning And morning is rising for me Through the dark and the storm and the warning I'm keeping the word, can't you see Every heartbeat is a drum, every breath is a vow I said I'd be there by morning And I'm standing at your door now I'm standing at your door now
