Low Tide Anthems

by Rue Calloway-Voss

Heavier bass, slower tempos, and the first records where the shouting became the point.

Liner notes

This is where I found the bass. We tuned down, slowed everything to a crawl, and let the low end sit on the songs like wet concrete. I wrote about leaving jobs, leaving apartments, and sometimes just leaving the house in the cold. My voice cracked on the first day of tracking and we agreed to keep every crack. Low tide is when everything the water was hiding shows up, and that's how it felt.
