Liner notes

Slow Sugar was my first proper album, and the first time I had a small rotating band around me: bass, drums, a patient organ and two voices for the harmonies I grew up on in church. We tracked it live in a back room in Birmingham over a wet January. I wanted every song to feel like honey stirred into something warm, never rushed and never too sweet.
